Cedar River Cleanup

Saturday, July 28th, come one, come all and help do your part to clean up the Cedar River!

Volunteers are needed to assist both on land and on the water. Plans are to remove physical debris, sort out recyclable materials and provide refreshments for volunteers. Canoes will be provided for water volunteers, however if you own a canoe or kayak you are welcome to bring your own, provided you have a way to haul it. Personal flotation devices will be available, but please bring your own if you have one. Also, please bring your own gloves, sunscreen, and insect repellent.

How to get involved:

  • Sign-up online to participate.
  • Check-in: 8:30am for all paddlers and land crew at TBA

  • Sorters: Volunteers can also help with sorting the items brought in from both the water and from the trails. We will be sorting items to recycle as much of the debris as possible, and send as little of what we collect to the landfill. We will need several people to assist with sorting efforts.
  • Donate: Whether it’s your time, your dollars or materials, we are able to make use of many forms of support for this event.

Physical items we can use as part of this effort include:

  • Gloves
  • Snacks & Refreshments for volunteers
  • Coolers, ice and Powdered drinks (Gatorade, lemonade, etc.) Safety support is provided by Prairie Rapids Paddlers.

Cedar River Festival

Sunday, Sunday 29st is the date for the 2012 Cedar River Festival. The
Festival begins at 1:00 p.m. and concludes at 7:00 p.m, at Cedar Falls Rotary Reserve.
